A LITTLE BIT ABOUT GRAEME...

I am an amateur film/theatre writer/director from Dunfermline. I may not be very good, thats not for me to say - but thats how I like to class myself!

I was born in Dunfermline, Scotland on 29th December to an civil servant and an Aberdonian goat farmer (which, I guess, explains a lot already!) and despite short spells in Dalgety Bay and Dundee, I've lived in Dunfermline for pretty much all my life. I quite enjoy Fife! Yes it can be rubbish at times but it's where I grew up. Living in Fife has helped me grow into who I am today.

I went to Commercial Primary School and showed a remarkable aptitude for time-wasting. What I remember about that time was having lots of fun, getting to act daft lots and winning Burns Certificates (for the recitation of Scots poetry and the singing of Scots songs). Like a caterpillar becoming a butterfly, I soon outgrew the cocoon that is Commercial and started at Queen Anne High School (also in Dunfermline). It was during this time at Queen Anne that I truly found my love of acting & performance. I remember enjoying all the artistic, creative subjects much more than the sciences, and knew this was what I wanted to 'do'.

In 2001, while organising my own work experience, I was lucky enough to get a placement at the absolutely wonderful Kingdom FM in Markinch, Fife. I got to observe the inner workings of a radio station, and was hooked. It was entertainment on a scale I'd never known! I kept going back Saturday after Saturday, and I even gotto help out at a roadshow - and this eventually led me to the now defunct Scot FM.

In 2002, when Scot FM was bought over and rebranded as Real Radio Scotland, I was reloacted through to Glasgow where I spent time

as a Production Assistant (albeit freelance) and stayed there until Apr 2003. Sadly, the work dried up and I was left without a contract

& a station to work for. But having seen the many possibilities open to me, I decided to go back to

one of my first loves - film - and study it.

I went to Glenrothes College for the next few years, working hard (and not so hard) to gain my diploma in

TV & Film, something I'm very proud of. While studying, Istarted working at various places part time.

Bars, jewellers and finally ending up in an opticians! (And I've been there ever since!)

Since coming back to Dunfermline, I was lucky enough to rediscover the amateur theatre 'circuit',

and my love & passion for directing truly came to the fore. I've been fortunate to be involved with a

number of different theatre companies, allowing me to expand my skills and truly find my 'voice'.

At the moment, I currently stay in Dunfermline with 'flatmate Graeme' and the two

dogs (Hugo and Molly). They are both totally mental and an absolute joy to

have around the house.

I've got an older brother, who works in an architects and my Mum is a

complementary therapist with her own successful business. My Dad decided

he wanted nothing more to do with our family quite a few years ago,

which is his loss quite frankly.

I used to do karaoke too! I was a member of the famous 'Men In Kilts'

karaoke team before they disbanded in 2008 and I went on to fly solo

at Coadys before the pub closed in Sep 09.

As of right now, I continue to use my film & theatre experience to bring

fun, entertaining and educational theatre skills classes for young people

to everybody, regardless of background/race/creed.

In my spare time, I enjoy listening to classical music & pop music in equal

measure (with a dash of musicals thrown in for fun!) and I love to

watch 'Doctor Who'.
